The Chamber aims to develop a world-class African Maritime industry that drives economic growth while adhering to international business practices. It is committed to fostering viable enterprises, increasing black participation in ownership, management, and employment across the industry value chain. By accelerating procurement from black-owned businesses, the Chamber seeks to create opportunities for new and existing enterprises, fostering job creation and industry growth. Additionally, it promotes a transparent platform for access to skills, capital, and economic opportunities, enhancing productivity within the sector. The Chamber actively recruits and nurtures black entrepreneurs, ensuring meaningful participation in the Maritime Transport and Service Industry. Embracing Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) as both a constitutional and economic necessity, it strives to expand the number of SA-flagged vessels and establish globally competitive South African companies. Furthermore, it facilitates business links between SMMEs and industry stakeholders while designing strategic projects to unlock provincial potential through robust infrastructure development.
